Minimay 1 Jan - 30 June activity update
The Kowree Farm Tree Group undertook the following activity between 1 Jan and 30 June 2009:
- picked 17kg of Buloke seed from site, for the direct seeding program
- collected seed of several other species to be propagated in a nursery for seedling planting in 2010
- fixed all boundary fences
- carried out on-going identification and control of several minor weed infestations.
- identified numerous areas where Buloke regeneration is occurring
- involved community groups in tidying and removing rubbish, internal fences and shed
- ordered seedlings for planting in the South-west corner (about 7 hectares) of the site (a eucalypt dominant grassy woodland area)
- planned site preparation (ripping) and seeding; and
- visited neighbours.
