Time running out for Victorian first home bonus
Potential first home buyers in Victoria should be aware that time is running out to receive the Victorian Government’s first home bonus. The bonus, which offers $13,000 to first-home buyers of new homes in Melbourne and $19,500 in regional areas, will end on 30 June 2012.
Only the federal government’s $7,000 grant to first-time buyers will remain in place from 1 July 2012.
bankmecu’s Lending Manager, Martyn Norman, encourages potential first home buyers to act now and contact bankmecu to discuss their lending needs so they can take advantage of the Victorian first home bonus before it expires.
“As a customer owned bank we put customers first and that means offering first time homebuyers a home loan package which feature low fees and interest rates. Our responsible approach to banking also ensures our first homebuyers only borrow within their means”, said Norman.
bankmecu can also help customers complete and lodge the first home owners grant application.
