eStatements terms and conditions
About Internet Banking eStatement features and benefits:
The Internet Banking eStatement facility enables customers to view their bankmecu statements (eStatements) online within Internet Banking, rather than receiving paper statements sent to their postal address. Customers who currently receive a formal statement and who register to receive an eStatement will receive an email each time a new eStatement becomes available in Internet Banking. The eStatements will be provided in a PDF format and can be viewed, saved and printed from Internet Banking. In addition to the eStatement other marketing material and customer owned bank information that would normally accompany a paper Statement may also be included as a PDF document within Internet Banking or be provided via a separate link.
Conditions of use
Conditions of use attached to the Internet Banking eStatements facility include:
- Customers are required to be registered for Internet Banking. Access is via our web site. (www.bankmecu.com.au)
- Customers are required to have Adobe Acrobat version 5 or later to view their eStatements and any accompanying customer owned bank information on-line.
- Customers must register to receive eStatements and provide an email address to receive notification that a new eStatement is available to view in Internet Banking.
- If a customer currently receives a formal paper statement for an account in their name, then registering for eStatements will entitle them to view eStatements via Internet Banking.
- Non-personal accounts (corporate & community accounts) can also register for eStatements. Preferably this should be done through a linked signatory account record. If a corporate or community account has special requirements please advise by sending an email via our Internet Banking Secure Email facility or by calling our National Service Centre on 132 888.
- Customers will be required to supply bankmecu with their preferred correct email address and ensure that this email address information is updated if it changes. This is to ensure notification of eStatements is always sent to the customer’s correct email address.
- Should the email notification “bounce back” we will write to our customer requesting a new email address.
- If a customer does not use Internet Banking for 90 days then Internet Banking will be “deactivated”. At the same time if the customer is registered for eStatements then they will also be deregistered. Following eStatement deregistration we will recommence sending paper based statements. Customers who subsequently reactivate Internet Banking will also have to re-register for eStatements if they are again required.
- Customers should regularly check their email for notices that eStatements are available.
- A change to an email address can be completed on-line and can be completed in the “manage eStatements” section in Internet Banking.
- Once a customer is registered to receive eStatements, paper statements will no longer be sent.
- Customers can cancel their registration to receive eStatements at any time. By deregistering for this service customers will revert to receiving paper statements.
- If for any reason we are unable to provide an eStatement we may send a paper statement to the customers nominated postal address.
- When customers register for the eStatement facility they agree to receive their statements electronically and must acknowledge that they have read and accept the Terms & Conditions that apply to this facility.
- If a customer closes their account their final statement will be provided in paper form.
- The common statement frequency is “monthly” for bankmecu customers. Statements are issued as at the last day of each month. Enquiries about statements can be directed to bankmecu via our Internet Banking Secure Email facility or by calling our National Service Centre on 132 888.
- Archived statements prior to the implementation of eStatements will only be available starting from 1st November 2008. The eStatement archive in Internet Banking will grow month by month following the implementation of eStatements.
- Customers agree to view their eStatement in a timely and prompt manner. If customers locate any errors, discrepancies, or unauthorised transactions they must notify bankmecu immediately by sending an email via our Internet Banking Secure Email facility or by calling our National Service Centre on 132 888.
