reconciliation action plan
bank
mecu's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has been developed in collaboration with Reconciliation Australia. It identified ways in which bank
mecucan contribute to closing the life expectancy gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians and other Australians.
bankmecu's RAP follows the guiding principles outlined by Reconciliation Australia, which include:
- Relationships - building good relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Respect - building respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contributions to Australia
- Opportunities - working to ensure equal opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
As a national organisation, we cannot have a diverse and representative workforce without the inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
Through our Reconciliation Action Plan we want to contribute to the nation’s reconciliation process. bankmecu will identify and address Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues that align with our business, in particular issues related to banking and financial literacy.
bankmecu’s vision is to help increase awareness about reconciliation while building our own capacity and that of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and communities. Ultimately we want to make a difference to the economic, environmental and social wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
