    employee remuneration and benefits

bankmecu seeks to remunerate staff fairly and competitively according to industry standards, to provide benefits that help employees meet their needs and for them to achieve a good work/life balance.

The minimum wage as at 30 June 2011 in the Banking Finance and Insurance Award was $34,507 p.a. bankmecu’s lowest entry level wage is $38,739 p.a. regardless of an employee’s employment category, gender or region of employment.

bankmecu recognises there are remuneration differences between genders at some employment levels and this is due to the nature of the role performed, experience and length of service.

Salaries are determined using a range of external benchmarks, including the Australasian Mutuals Institute Salary Survey, and are reviewed annually to ensure that they are competitive with industry standards. The remuneration structure is also published internally on the intranet.

bankmecu will continue to analyse salary data to ensure staff are remunerated fairly and competitively according to industry standards, to provide benefits that help employees meet their needs and for them to achieve a good work/life balance.
